Rubbish Collection

Keeping Dunedin clean and safe is a shared responsibility, and the Dunedin City Council (DCC) provides an efficient kerbside rubbish and recycling collection service to help residents manage their waste effectively. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about collection schedules, missed collections, bin guidelines, and special services.

 

Kerbside Collection in the Tertiary Area

If you live in the tertiary area (highlighted to the right), your rubbish and recycling bins are collected every Tuesday. The bins collected include:

  • Green-lidded food scraps and garden waste bin

  • Yellow-lidded mixed recycling bin

  • Blue glass recycling bin

  • Red-lidded rubbish bin

This weekly collection is part of DCC’s commitment to the Sophia Charter, ensuring a tidy and safe environment.

Kerbside Collection for Other Suburbs
